1.Introduction
Firstly,An Eagle scout statements of Ambitions and Life Purpose is a short essay, written by an Eagle Scout candidate, that describes their goals, values and mindsets. Often, these statements are about 500 words in length and are broken into 4 parts:Intro,short term goals,long-term goals, and life purpose.
Your introductory paragraph should go over some of the most impactful experiences you’ve had in Scouting thus far, as well as what you’ve learned from those experiences. Some experiences you can highlight are times when you acted as a leader, times where you learned an important value, or even things that you learned in Scouting that you’ve applied to a situation outside of Scouting.
Your introduction shouldn’t be long-winded, as you’ll have many other parts of your essay to get into more detail.
2.short-term goals.
The focus of your next section should be the goals you’d like to complete before finishing high school. These short-term goals can be academic (like getting all A’s), extracurricular (Like making varsity), or even personally-related (such as a hobby, interest, or side-business).
3.long-term goals.
This section focuses on your long-term plans after graduating from high school. There are many avenues you could pursue after your graduation! Will you be going to a trade school? The military? Continuing your education by attending a four-year university or a community college? Heading straight to the workforce? The possibilities are endless!
4.life purpose.
The final section of your Statement of Ambitions and Life Purpose should be used to describe your ultimate life’s vision. What do you really want out of life? Good topics to consider for this section could include plans about a future family, community involvement, and bucket-list experiences.

Dear Eagle Scout Board of Review,
I'm honored to have the opportunity to write this letter of recommendation for Jesse Mendel as she strives to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.
I've known Jesse for three years. I met her when she was just starting high school after moving from another district. I was, and continue to be, an English teacher and the adviser for the student newspaper. She was among the attendees of the first newspaper staff meeting of 2018. Since then, I've witnessed Jesse evolve from a shy first-year student to a confident leader her peers can always depend on for guidance.
With our newspaper, the students pitch their own story ideas. Usually, this results in pieces about cafeteria food and youth trends. In the beginning, Jesse appeared eager to contribute but reluctant to express herself, and she was happy to accept suggestions from other members. To her credit, she always submitted her stories well before the deadline. Within a month, I began to notice a change. During meetings, she started suggesting challenging story ideas, such as reports about the school budget and articles about national events. She wrote the articles herself and impressed everyone with their quality.
Since that first year, Jesse has become the editor-in-chief of our school paper. Her fellow staff members can always depend on her to sit with them and help tighten their articles and express the main points more directly, and she always approaches her work with a friendly, cheerful attitude. Having her as the editor-in-chief makes my job as the adviser easy, as I can trust her to be a positive guiding force while preparing every issue.
If her work as a school newspaper writer and editor is any indication of her capabilities elsewhere, I'm entirely confident that Jesse can fulfill the standards of the Eagle Scout rank, and I have every reason to trust in the continued trajectory of her growth.

The Eagle Scout letter of ambition requirements are as follows:
Your Statement of Ambitions should be a minimum of two pages. The first page should be a double-spaced typed letter of what you want to do with the rest of your life. This should be really easy for scouts to write.
This first page is where most scouts stop. That is only half of the requirement. It also says to include a list of any leadership positions you have held over your scouting time in anything. This includes school, band, church, work, anywhere!
Also, you need to include any awards you received while serving in these leadership roles.
● Short-Term Goals. Candidates can use this part of the letter to tell the Board what they do outside scouting and what the goals they plan on achieving in their nearest future are. This paragraph should give the Board a sense of who the candidate is and what they like to do.
● Ambitions. In this section, the candidate can expand and say more about their life purpose. They can designate how they would like to spend their life, what they want to do, and who they want to be. Candidates can indicate what guides them in their life and what influenced them in choosing their life goals.
● Positions. Here the candidate can state the leadership positions that they have. It can be any position the candidate had at school, at church, in a summer camp. If nothing comes up then the candidate can describe times when they acted beyond their responsibilities to help others, or just did more than was expected from them.
● Awards and Honors. This part of the letter can include information about the prizes that the candidate has received during different competitions. It can be an award they won at different olympiads, science fairs, math competitions, spelling contests, etc. In addition to this, they can indicate honors received from volunteer organizations for their contributions, a newspaper article mentioning their help to the community, or pretty much anything that made them feel honored.
